Making the Photo

Making the Photo: Finding the Joy

Welcome to April's episode of “Making the Photo” by Dear Bubbles! For this month, I’m featuring a photograph I call “Finding the Joy" from April 2022 in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee. It wasn't a planned photograph, but rather the serendipitous blend of two different "unsuccessful" frames made at two different times and places. Hear more about how using "What if..." questions can lead to new opportunities and how to incorporate intentional camera movement (ICM) and multiple exposures (ME) to come up with something out of the ordinary! As with all the Making the Photo videos, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at why this scene caught my eye, how I approached the scene from a creative and technical perspective, what exposure settings and other camera equipment I used, and the processing techniques I used to polish my image into my final vision. Hope you enjoy! (Since this is a Patreon-exclusive post, Patreon supporters will need to be logged into their Patreon account to access the video. Hi Colleen,
Something at Patron seems not to be working. I’m a subscriber at your “Bubbly” level of $2/mo but can’t seem to access your latest post, “Finding the Joy”. Am I missing something? –Pat Cooney
